MosMetro

MosMetro is the official app of the Moscow metro, which allows you to plan your routes and consult the complete metro map in the most convenient way possible. This app has everything you need to travel by metro in the Russian capital.

In order to use MosMetro, it's not necessary to have an account, although it is recommended, as having an account allows you to save routes and, more importantly, to access your virtual metro card on the app itself. Creating an account is as easy as using your VKontakte, OK.ru, Google, or Apple account. Signing up takes less than two minutes.

The first thing you'll see when you open MosMetro is the complete Moscow metro map. By pinching the screen, you can zoom in or out to take a closer look at certain lines or to check how often the metro runs at each stop. From this screen, you can also check a lot of additional information about each stop. You can see if there are bathrooms, cafeterias, restaurants, charging points, supermarkets, access for people with reduced mobility, and much more.

One of the most useful tabs on MosMetro is the News tab. Why? Because, from this tab, you can quickly check for any incidents that may have affected the metro lines. From here, you can check if a route has been cut or if there's construction being done at a certain station. This way, you won't be caught by surprise if the train you're riding stops before you reach your destination.
